DANCING WITH THE DEVIL (POEM)

I witnessed the Devil consume you on that dark and dreary night
Manipulating your mind and soul engrossed within your fright

He never would have came had he never heard your knock, if never awakened by your screams the door would still be locked

SO EASILY YOU DO FORGET, here on earth we have a choice. When in hell we have no mind, no presence nor a voice

I saw the Devil stab you and you hardly could inhale....Sought you with his yellow eyes, whipped you with his tail

Little by little I watched you slip as inch by inch you lost your grip

He never would have came had he never heard your cry. If never softened by his touch or taken by your reply

Remembering my lover on that dark and dreary night. As sure as in sleepless slumber your spirit takes its flight

I saw you dancing with the Devil as if you knew him all the while

Falling down upon your knees weakened by his smile

He never would have came had you never let him in

If never able to beat you, the dance could not begin

You once were inside out, now he's turned you inside in

Shallowed by his gripping nails stinging on your skin

The sun is finally setting beating down upon your face

Lucifer escapes your core with smooth and subtle grace

I have held you in my arms

I have watched you stand alone

Hoping somehow you would forget everything that you were shown

If I felt you'd listen I could tell you all I've heard

Yet until I know he wont return I will not speak a word

  1. *Touching* Reminds me of my dear brother who has suffered from a drug addiction most of his life. He is, & has been, clean now for about a year! :)
